Born in Bolton, Mark graduated from the Royal College of Music in 1988 and went on to pursue a successful performing career which included tours of Japan and the USA, live solo performances on BBC TV, Radio 3 and Classic FM, together with over 500 performances with Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now! Organisation. It was his interest in exploring new approaches to teaching that led him to establish Charanga in 1996 with educational ICT expert Paul Fletcher.

With Charanga, Mark has worked as senior instructional designer on market leading internationally recognised interactive courses for a range of instruments and is regularly invited to speak about music education ICT development at education conferences, including the Federation of Music Services annual conference and National Association of Music Educators in 2008. Today Mark’s role at Charanga primarily encompasses business development and premium account management.
